Global Talent for Academic Jobs

In 2020, the majority of baby boomers will be retired or semi-retired. This has large ramifications for the academic workforce.  Over 30% of current academics are predicted to retire, and there is a realisation that many PhDs are not staying in university to take up research and teaching roles. Many universities are seeking industry professionals to add knowledge and experience to workforce.

More students are enrolling in Higher Education

Data released by the Department of Education has revealed a record number of students enrolled in higher education in the first half of 2015, with more than 1.2 million students enrolled. That’s an increase of 3.1% on the same period in 2014. Private higher education easily outpaced university enrolments in the first half of 2015. Private student numbers grew 10.1% in 2015, more than three times the rate of the previous year.

Higher Education professionals are in high demand

Private higher education institutes are struggling to find qualified Lecturers, Professors, Research, Administration and Support Staff to fill newly created roles. This growth is a golden opportunity for academics and other university staff who are willing to broaden their experience and escape the uncertainty and continued disruption of the university sector.
